Sensational Salads – the taste test

After preparing all the fruit, it was time for the exciting part – The taste test.  We got to try something for each bowl and were encouraged to try something new.  We all found something we loved and some of use found things we weren’t so keen on.  After talking about what we like and didn’t we realised all our taste buds were different so we enjoy different flavours.

Next we will start planning what fruits we would include in our own fruit salads.

Sensational Salads

As part of our DT topic sensation salads we earnt how to prepare fruit for eating.  We thought about the importance of hygiene and how to stay safe when using knives.   Today, we learnt the bridge cut, so we slice the fruit and keep our fingers safe.  Here are some pictures of use trying this out.

Roald Dahl’s 100th

We had loads of fun making our own cocktails from different juices.  We measured them carefully to make  sure they were half full. In Allington we practised characterisation where we role played different Roald Dahl characters.

Allington’s storm dance

In music we have been looking at the theme of weather. Last week we created our own stormy pieces of music using the instruments.  This week we created our own dance.   We put on our dance kits and got straight to work.

We started by thinking of different movements for stormy weather. We then put them together to make a dance. Here are some photos of our creations.
