Science experiments

This week we have been testing materials to see what would make the best umbrella. We made sure it was a fair test by measuring the water in teaspoons. Here are some photos of what we did.

The boys worked as a great team and tested the cotton fabric. The found out it wasn't very waterproof and decided it would be rubbish as an umbrella.

Great fire of London diary by Ahmad

On Sunday early morning in Thomas’ bakery, the fire started in Pudding lane. On the middle of Sunday morning Samuel Pepys wrote about the fire. Then the fire was all over the houses and then all of London was burning. The people got their stuff and got on the river Thames.   The cathedral was burnt. Even the king helped to put out the fire so London can’t be destroyed.  London was getting destroyed by fire so they pulled houses, and people could not live in the houses as they are destroyed by fire.  Soldiers helped to put out the fire.

Reflection time

In Allington we lit some candles and looked at the bright flickering flames. We thought about all the fun we had had today and how much we had learnt.

We listened very carefully and we were very safe around the flames.

Rangoli Patterns

We drew our own Rangoli patterns outside with chalk and coloured our own in class.  Hindu’s believe that this will welcome Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth into their homes.   Here are a few of our fantastic designs.

Ryan – Five Sentence Challenge

It was a cloudy day but it did not stop anyone coming out and having fun.

There were some people on their boats and others were having a picnic.  Some were chatting on the bench and some kids were playing a ring a ring a roses!

The seagulls were flying by and even the dogs were having a great time playing with a blue ball.  The sun started to shine and glistened on the river.
